Tulipwood Nordic Tree, Wide

The wider sibling of the slim Nordic trees, turned from thicker 75mm tulipwood stock. Around 14cm tall and 6.5cm across the base, with the bottom bough flaring out to form the foot.

The tulipwood came from the same furniture maker’s offcuts, found on eBay. The tulip tree is one of the tallest broadleaf trees in eastern North America, with unusual leaves whose tips look as if they’ve been cut off square. Its heartwood often has a faint green tint, which mellows towards brown with time and light.

Finished with chestnut friction polish.
