Tulipwood Nordic Tree, Slim

Slim Nordic-style Christmas trees in tulipwood, where the bottom bough forms the base. Each is between 12 and 14cm tall and only 4cm across at the widest. They share the same design, with small variations in how sharp the top is, so no two are quite the same.

The tulipwood came as offcuts from a furniture maker, found on eBay. Despite the name, it doesn’t come from tulips. It’s the timber of the tulip tree (Liriodendron tulipifera), named for its tulip-shaped flowers. It’s often sold as “yellow poplar”, but it isn’t a poplar at all. It’s a member of the magnolia family.

Finished with chestnut friction polish.
